Character Education Strategy Through Example and Habitation

This study aimed to describe the strategy of character education through example and habituation at an elementary school in Kulon Progo. A qualitative method was used, data collected observation, interviews documentation techniques. The sources were obtained from Principal, Class I Teachers, IV Students, Students. analysis technique used Miles Huberman model. results indicated that values Progo included religious values, care for environment, love homeland, discipline, responsibility. SCE program implemented three stages: planning, which integrated into curriculum, syllabus, lesson plans; implementation, done habituation, using routine activities, spontaneous programmed activities; evaluation, carried out on a weekly or monthly basis official meetings. Barriers implementation different characters students lack cooperation various parties. Solutions overcome these obstacles reminding students, providing examples, increasing cooperation, communicating more about student behavior.
